With over 25 years of experience and a passion for movement beyond the Pilates world, I’ve developed a unique approach designed for those navigating (or already on) the path to midlife and beyond. My classes focus on freeing stiff joints, energizing muscles, and reconnecting your brain and body—all while tackling the root causes of stiffness, pain, and restricted movement.
Whether it’s poor posture, old injuries, or stress-related habits, we address it all. And while aging can sometimes feel like it brings inevitable limitations, my clients in their 70s, 80s, and even 90s prove that it’s possible to regain youthful, confident, and joyful movement.
This isn’t just core work. My classes are designed to engage your whole body, using diverse movements to help you feel more fluid, strong, and balanced. Each week, you’ll build on what you’ve learned, improving your body’s efficiency and creating the strength and confidence to live the life you want.

Ultimate Pilates takes the best of traditional mat-based Pilates and adds in restorative exercises that address the imbalances that modern life creates. The system uses practical and functional movements to restore movement back into stiff hips, knees, backs, shoulders etc. The Ultimate Pilates system of restorative Pilates teaches why movement in certain joints might be lacking, how to restore it, and practical ideas for helping you to bring more movement back into your everyday life.
My name is Gaile Dean. I am passionate about movement and its ability
to restore the body to health. I have studied Pilates for over 25 years at
various highly acclaimed schools. I have also studied the Melt Method,
Anatomy in Motion and certified in Nutritious Movement as a Restorative
exercise specialist. My classes are completely unique in Sussex and are
inspired by my constant drive to learn about human movement.
I love
the outdoors and you will usually find me and my dogs barefooting on the
beach and the downs. Whenever possible my classes move outdoors, and we
run many additional events outdoors on the beach green.
